The CEO program (Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities) recently celebrated their 10th year! The Effingham, IL CEO program began in the fall of 2008. Since that time, the program has expanded to 39 classes involving 168 schools in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Colorado. An additional six classes will begin this fall, bringing to total classes to 45.
Hannah Marie Kay Ashby, young entrepreneur in the Daviess County CEO program, is graduating with an impressive high school career and big plans for the future.

Glimpses into the creative side of teenage minds were on display last Wednesday evening as Cindi Koll's Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities (CEO) group staged a Trade Show at Maasconi's Char and Bar in Verndale.

Among the primary goals of the CEO program are for students to develop an appreciation for our local area, to build a resource network of local business and community contacts, and to strengthen their “soft skills,” such as communication, teamwork and problem-solving that will help them become leaders.
