The Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development’s fourth annual meeting and leadership breakfast Tuesday highlighted the importance of retaining young, local talent in Knox County, and how local businesses plan to do so in the future.
The theme of the evening was "Business Beyond Borders," with the Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities class from Whiteside Area Career Center presenting the meal, catered by Smoked on 3rd BBQ Bistro and Catering.
Keller preceded the awards presentation with an update on the RiverBend CEO Program, which stands for “Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities,” started in Effingham, Illinois. The program now is in more than 40 schools in four states. The Riverbend CEO Program had a total of 17 students join in its first year from Alton High School and Marquette Catholic High School.
